Es ist die letzte Woche im August und die Vorbereitungen für unsere Reise in das Traumland Neuseeland laufen an. Schon verrückt an was da alles so gedacht werden muss. Viel Papierkram. Versicherungen, Haftpflicht und dann noch irgendwie eine Bank finden, welche das Hin und Her zwischen Neuseeland und Deutschland kostengünstig mitmacht. Während Christian fleißig am Bachelorarbeit schreiben ist, versuche ich für uns eine geeignete Wohnung in Auckland über das Internet zu finden, was sich als nicht so einfach erweist. Es gibt viele preisintensive Wohnungen direkt in der Innenstadt, aber wir wollen lieber weiter ausserhalb der Stadt uns etwas suchen. Mit der Jobsuche hat es bei mir bisher auch noch nicht geklappt, da heißt es nur weiter und weiter bewerben.

Mit viel Lesematerial und DVDs versuchen wir uns auf Neuseeland einzustimmen und so viel wie möglich Informationen zu sammeln. Die ersten „Einpacklisten“ werden geschrieben. Klar ist, es kann nur wenig mit nach Down Under. Verschiedene Sachen werden wir uns zwar per Post nachschicken lassen, aber dennoch ist das Gepäck begrenzt. Die Flüge sind schon seit einigen Wochen gebucht. Es soll zuerst einmal mit Ryanair von Altenburg nach London Stansted Airport gehen, da wir dort noch ein paar ehemalige Kollegen von Rica besuchen wollen. Danach geht es weiter vom London Heathrow Airport mit Air New Zealand nach Tokyo und von dort aus nach Auckland. Insgesamt 32 Stunden dauert der Flug. Schon eine lange Zeit, wenn man nur kurze Flüge zwischen England und Deutschland gewohnt ist.

Soweit der Plan. Alles was danach kommt, ist bis jetzt ungewiss,aber wir sind voller Zuversicht!

It is the last week in august and we started with our preparations for New Zealand. It is crazy about how much things you have to think about. A lot of paperwork.Insurances, liability and we need to find a bank which is able to follow all our seesaw between Germany and New Zealand and that to a fair price. During Christian is finishing his Bachelorwork I am trying to find a flat for us in Auckland. But that is not that easy. There are a lot of flats in the city centre of Auckland, but we would like to have one outside of town in one of the outskirts. I also did not had so much luck so far with finding a job for me in one of the hotels in Auckland, but I will keep on trying.

With some travel guides, prochures and DVDs about New Zealand we are trying to put ourselfs in the mood of New Zealand and to get as much information about this two islands as we can. The first „packing lists“ war written, but I know that we just can take a few things with us Down Under. We are sending a few things to New Zealand by post, but the luggage is still numbered. Our flight are booked since a few weeks. First of all we are flying with Ryanair from Altenburg to London Stansted Airport, to visit some former colleagues from Rica. After that we are flying from London Heathrow Airport with Air New Zeland to Tokyo and then on to Auckland. The flight takes us in total 32 hours. A long term if you are just used to short term flights from England to Germany.

So far our plan for New Zealand. Everything what is happening after is still unknown, but we are confident.
